Here we go..
We are in the middle of summer, so we can finally embrace the biggest ongoing fashion trends of 2016. The light grey colour in outfits undoubtedly had one of the greatest impact on our wardrobes this summer, a trend that it is likely to continue prevailing this coming Autumn and Winter seasons. It is the colour of luxe and elegance, neutral and minimalistic but chic and flattering on all skin colours at the same time.
As greyscale has been trending since the Winter of 2014, it should not be considered a colour trend but rather an all times classic to include in your garde-robe, from yoga leggings to your high couture wedding guest dress. This summer we have seen it a lot on bikinis and I believe it is a gorgeous colour despite many of you who still may think it is a dull, brutal colour to wear during the hot days.
To remove any last sign of doubt from your mind, I chose to present you my top picks of outfits varying from casual to high fashion pieces. You will see that grey can be played with textures ( such as silk, lace, crochet and suede textures) and as much as you can pattern it up with other colours, it can be worn solo.
On the occasion of Carly’s Bybel collection in collaboration with Missguided which launched on 19 July 2016 in UK, 4 out of her 14 pieces in the collection have been selected that I think she has nicely promoted the ‘all grey’ look. I absolutely loved the suede leggings with its paired crop top, silky grey trench coat, lace mini dress and last but not least the “deep v” silver/grey maxi dress. I also believe she picked up the right textures for each individual look. The reason Carli Bybel is chosen is that she has proved how of an inspirational vlogger she is worldwide. Above all, she is truly talented, charming and animal-friendly. Of course she is also chosen in today’s post because she has well- demonstrated that grey (which she personally adores and wears a lot) is definitely suitable for every season and occasion.
Here are the top 4 picks from her collection:
Recalling the Elie Saab Spring Summer 2016 fashion show which is distinguished among other high fashion shows that took place in Paris on 27 January 2016 during the Haute Couture Fashion Week, is a great example of how grey is anything but a dull colour. The whole show was so ethereal and dreamy just like it was made out of a cinematic fairytale. The long grey lacy and embroidery high fashion dresses were and are my favourites from the show which dispelled any controversies having to do with whether grey is elegant and promoted the boundaries of luxe extravagance to another level!
